recorded today. jah is a mighty fine beatsmith. just u wait.

of cats and space and shiny things…

zeal is in the portable film festival! my clip for salt is up for voting. gosh i hate these voting things. damn lazy event promoters putting the onus on the artists! bah! i should be spending this time making things. but i’m not. i’m here convincing you to vote for me. you’ll be happy to know that i spent the last few months making something instead of convincing you to vote for me. and here (vote for me) it is! a new clip for the impossibly lustrous: FAUX PAS and his track Coach.

hooray! there’s another secret new faux pas clip by me up on youtube/zealtv too and i think it’s better. those of you with the faux pas changes EP might have an inkling as to what it might be… have a look why don’t you. and while you’re there check out my shiny new “channel honours”. i’m the #89th most viewed musician in australia today. that’s going in the pool room.

and thanks to the people who donated their cats. i’m sorry i couldn’t bring all of them back to earth. kittens burn up surprisingly fast on re-entry.

POP ROCKS!

Popsicle proudly presents: POP ROCKS

Zeal, British Robots and Tracy Wheeler Band

L!ve on Light Square, Friday, August 8th, 9PM $10

you must be able to tell how exciting this is. it’s made me disregard my usually steadfast lower case rule.

click here if you’d prefer to listen to the poster. (a free EP to the first person who can tell me where the backing track’s from).

hyper-happenicity

ah, it’s nice to be back. so, i’ll have to put up a more detailed post but basically - i got my appendix out. july tour is canceled. now it’s an october tour and will likely take in sydney, melbourne, brisbane and canberra. The Faux Pas film clip is finished!! i’ve been writing and recording so expect some new music and you can even come and hear a new song here:

more details about all of these happenings (and more!) in a future post… i’m off to practice.

happen(ed/ing)

much has happened, is happening and will, most probably, happen. last show was a good one. there were painters. that was great. again, again!

faux pas clip still going well… end in sight. hoo. ray. (spoiler alert: the following picture depicts in detail the intense emotional resolution at the end of the clip)

touring in july - canberra, melbourne and tasmania. sydney too with a little luck. and sydney again in october! couple of good adelaide shows coming up too but i’ll put them in another post and leave you with what lay at the top of my drive way… i’ve got a feeling david lynch dropped it there…

oh my god. it’s full of stars.

how to tear a hole in space-time on your bedroom floor:

eat paint [in band form]
subsketch [& the antidote]
zeal [me]
fad bar, friday the 25th of april, $7

and also, check this out! adelaide’s monthly indie pop extravaganza is being launched friday may 2nd. popsicle promises to be great and popsicle keeps its promises.

my good friend subsketch and i have done something silly. we’ve agreed to play a big star instore (!) with a weeks notice. can we do it? come and see. we’ll be in the basement - truly underground.

fun and games, guns and fame

nes-bowie1.jpg

on my recent travels around the intertron, i stumbled upon an old nes game, labyrinth - based on the 1986 masterpiece of the same name. don’t get me started on labyrinth… the fusion of bowie and henson was so obvious, it’s surprising it took them so long. but anyway, the best thing about this game is that somewhere out there, a nes programmer got to make 8-bit covers of david bowie songs. magic dance

all you need is xoxo.

14 adelaidiens. millions of love songs. debut acoustic zeal singing sad songs to knock the lovers down a peg. take that.

and after that, run down the street with me to fad bar and let’s do it all again! [see below] <3 <3 <3
